I went to the Tsukiji Fish Market today. Supposedly the biggest tourist attraction in Tokyo these days. My first impression of it was that it was like the end of the first Indiana Jones movie when they put away the ark of the covenant in that huge warehouse that stretches on and on...except of course this is filled with fish and vegetables.
And then there are all these guys on little scooter trucks flying around.
And then there are sea creatures everywhere.
Somehow I was there for the bimonthly tuna auction.
Sold:
And then the sun started to come up.
And I ate ramen.
And chirashi for lunch.
That looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteI like the tuna auction and the dedication it took to get up before sunrise for all of this!
